Message from the President
Wow what a year 2020 has been! We want you to know that even during these trying times, the Zonta Club of Bonita Springs-Estero has been working diligently on service projects. As many know, our club had to postpone our annual Woman of the Year fundraiser twice. It was sad, but we adhered to the rules that were given. In light of the pandemic, our Vice President Shannon Fitch, came up with a brilliant idea for our Zonta members to help others during this time. This project, called “Stronger than COVID,” involved members choosing to do individual service projects during the shut down, either locally or remotely. The intention of this initiative was to help people in need.
Some members donated time to shelters, others donated and collected food to give to food pantries, and some donated clothing to women’s groups. Either way, we were out in the community. Zonta Club of Bonita Springs-Estero is proud to serve and advocate for others and although we could not have our normal fundraiser, we truly made a difference in many lives around the United States. For that I am a very proud president. Let’s hope 2021 will bring a fresh start to the new year!
